Welcome to pamelaplatt.com

Welcome to my website. I am updating the classes and tutorials to reflect Adobe CS6 software applications for my classes that I teach. As the firefoxtutorials are updated they will be added to my website.

Like many of you I have had to teach classes with very little resources and a sparse budget. It seemed as soon as I was able to get new books they would be out of date as the new software became available. After my first year of teaching web design I decided to start using the web as my primary source for teaching all of my classes. There was just one problem, the tutorials I found online often were too difficult for my students to understand or they had missing steps in the design process. I began to create my own tutorials for my classes and made these available to others free of charge.

Here you will find many resources to help you learn or teach Adobe applications like Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Acrobat. The site is organized by classes, tutorials on individual projects, and portfolios of my work and the work of my students. All of the class assignments are meant not only to teach students how to use the software, but also to have a portfolio quality piece of digital artwork to add to their print or online website. I hope you find this site helpful...enjoy!

Tutorials and projects

firefoxAt this website you will find tutorials on Adobe CS5 applications like Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Premiere, and After Effects. These tutorials teach you how to use the software and also how to pass the Adobe Certified Associate Exam. At the same by completing these tutorials you will end up with high quality designs that you can use for your portfolio. Tutorials have written directions accompanied by illustrations along with videos that show me actually doing the technique for each step of the project. To access application tutorials just click on TUTORIALS or on the tutorials link at the top or bottom of this page.

teacher and student portfolios

firefoxOver the years many of my students have created some pretty cool digital artwork, games, animations, photography, and websites . I have created a portfolio page that links out to many of their portfolios or designs for you to check out. I have also created my own portfolio pages illustrating my work over the years. To the left is an image of my daughter who was a three year veteran of my classes in high school. She is finishing her senior year at FSU and is a working graphic artist and web designer . To view her website just click on her image or click on Audrey. The portfolios are fun to view because they give you some insight into the kinds of projects that you will be doing in the classes and in the tutorials. You can access all of this work by going to Portfolios or by clicking on the Portfolios link at the top or bottom of this page.
